Stoupa community
Terms
Effective date: November 1, 2026
These terms apply when you submit photographs, captions, descriptions or event information to StoupaGreece.com. The community submission service is operated by DW Stack in Niles, Illinois, USA (“we”, “us” or “our”). The website is produced primarily for a US audience and is accessible internationally.
Contact for submissions, permissions and removal requests: CS@DWStack.com
By selecting the agreement checkbox and submitting content, you agree to these terms. Our Privacy and Public Content Notice explains how we handle personal data. Publication consent and any optional wider personal-data permissions are requested separately from agreement to these terms.
Public nature of submissions
StoupaGreece.com is a public community website. Published photos, captions, descriptions, event details and your chosen public name can be viewed worldwide, shared, indexed by search engines and copied by others. Do not include confidential information in public fields. Verification email addresses, codes and nonpublic administrative records are not intended for publication. Public participation does not waive rights provided by applicable law.
Who may submit
You must be at least 18 years old and have authority to agree to these terms and grant the permissions described here. You must verify an email address you control before uploading photos or submitting an event. You do not need a WordPress account.
Allow a few minutes for the verification email to arrive and check your spam or junk folder. A verification code expires after 60 minutes. If you choose to remember your device, you may submit again without repeating verification until that session expires or is revoked. Keep your codes private and use “Forget this device” on a shared device.
Visitors may like contributions and share their links without email verification.
What you may submit
Submit photos and information that are relevant to Stoupa, the surrounding area or its community. You confirm that:
- You created the submitted material or have permission from the rights holder to grant the uses described in these terms. Finding a photo online does not give you that permission.
- Your descriptions are accurate to the best of your knowledge, and you do not impersonate another person or organisation.
- You have any permissions required for the proposed use of identifiable people, private locations, artwork or other protected material. For photos featuring children, obtain permission from their parent or legal guardian where required and avoid identifying details that could put a child at risk.
- Your submission does not include unlawful material, harassment, threats, hateful abuse, sexually explicit material, spam, malicious links or someone else’s private information without authority.
Only include contact information that is intended for public display. Do not upload identity documents or sensitive personal records. Your acceptance of these terms does not automatically supply consent on behalf of another person pictured or named.
Your ownership and permission for DW Stack use
You retain the copyright and other rights you hold in your content. You may continue to use it and allow others to use it.
You grant DW Stack a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, reproduce, publish, display, distribute and share your submitted photos, captions and other protected submission content. This permission covers StoupaGreece.com and other websites and projects operated by DW Stack, including editorial and community projects, printed and digital publications, social media posts and promotional materials. It includes commercial publications and promotion of those DW Stack projects. No payment or royalty is owed for uses within this licence unless separately agreed in writing.
This is a licence of the copyright and related rights you are entitled to grant. It does not waive privacy, data protection, personality or image rights. Where wider reuse involves personal data, we must also have a lawful basis for that specific use. Optional promotional use of your public name or image beyond StoupaGreece.com requires a separate choice identifying the purpose and relevant projects or channels. Declining that choice does not prevent submission to this website. We obtain any additional permissions required for other people shown.
We may resize, compress, crop, format and make reasonable technical adjustments to photos, and correct spelling or formatting in accompanying text, while respecting the meaning of your contribution. We may use hosting, printing, publishing and social platforms as needed to carry out these permitted uses. This does not grant unrelated businesses a general right to reuse your content for their own purposes.
We will use your submitted public name for attribution where reasonably practical and within your permissions. This does not remove any attribution or other rights that applicable law requires us to respect. We will not use a submission to falsely suggest that you or someone pictured endorses an unrelated product or cause.
This licence continues until you withdraw it through the process below. It does not replace any additional permission needed to use someone’s likeness in a particular context.
Publication and moderation
After email verification, a submission that passes the site’s checks may be published automatically, without an administrator reading it first. Flagged submissions may be held for review or rejected. Passing these checks does not certify that a submission is accurate, safe or authorised.
We may review, correct formatting, restrict, unpublish or remove contributions for relevance, quality, safety, rights concerns or breaches of these terms, and may restrict abusive contributors. Publication is not guaranteed. Edits may undergo further checks and temporarily return a contribution to review. Contact CS@DWStack.com to request human review of a moderation result.
Published photos, captions, event details and your chosen public name are visible to visitors. Visitors may share links, and public content may be indexed by search engines or copied by others. Sharing a link does not grant anyone a separate copyright licence to republish the photo.
Event listings
Submit event details you reasonably believe are accurate, including the date, local time, venue, admission information and any relevant restrictions. Do not claim to represent an organiser unless you are authorised to do so. Promptly update or cancel your listing when plans change.
A listing is community information. It does not mean that DW Stack organises, endorses or guarantees the event. Visitors should confirm details with the organiser before travelling, booking or paying. An event listing does not itself create a booking or ticket purchase.
Withdrawal and removal requests
You may withdraw the content licence or request removal by emailing CS@DWStack.com. Identify the contribution, preferably by its link, and tell us whether you want removal, withdrawal of optional wider use, or withdrawal of the entire content licence. People depicted or named, and rights holders, may also raise concerns even if they did not submit the material. We may ask for proportionate evidence of identity or authority when needed.
After verifying a licence withdrawal, we stop new uses under that licence and remove the contribution from websites and other channels we control without undue delay. We do not create new print runs or begin further distribution under the withdrawn licence. Withdrawal does not make earlier authorised use unlawful, and we cannot guarantee recall of copies already distributed or deletion of independent copies outside our control.
Consent withdrawal and other personal-data requests are handled under our Privacy and Public Content Notice. We comply with applicable duties concerning erasure and notification of recipients or other controllers. Limited retention for legal duties or claims must have its own valid justification. We do not change the legal basis merely to override withdrawal. Restricted backup or claim records are not permission for continued public or promotional use.
Where the GDPR applies, we handle rights requests within its time limits, normally one month, with a permitted extension explained within that first month. Other mandatory legal deadlines remain applicable. You do not need a WordPress account to make a request.
Applicable rights and changes
These terms do not exclude rights or obligations that applicable law does not allow us to exclude. The website’s US location and intended audience do not waive any privacy or other rights that apply to a particular person or processing activity.
We may update these terms and show the effective date above. Materially broader permissions for existing contributions require a valid further agreement or consent where required. A change to the terms does not retrospectively expand your licence or personal-data permissions.
